Midcareer Grantsmanship Workshop: “Building and Sustaining a Scholarly Career”

April 6, 2016 | 12:30 pm - 7:00 pm (ET)

As part of the scientific commemoration of NINR’s 30th anniversary year, senior nurse scientists and NINR staff will hold a workshop for midcareer scientists at each of the upcoming regional Nursing Research Society annual conferences.

This interactive training session, titled “Building and Sustaining a Scholarly Career,” will provide an overview of opportunities and dilemmas often encountered by midcareer scientists as they work to develop a sponsored project into a successful and sustained program of research (POR). At the session, senior and midcareer scientists and NINR program officers will discuss significant guideposts, useful strategies, and lessons learned.

Topics will include: establishing and sustaining a successful POR, delineating useful strategies to develop your career trajectory and maintain your POR in a demanding academic environment, and identifying approaches to challenges that deter POR success.

More information on the workshops is available through the regional nursing research societies. The NINR midcareer workshops will be held as a preconference session at:
