Join NINR for the next open session of the National Advisory Council for Nursing Research (NACNR), which will be held on May 23, 2017 from 1:00 – 5:15 PM in Conference Room 6, Building 31, C wing, 6th floor, on the NIH campus. Visitors are welcome to attend.
In addition to the open session on May 23, Dr. Lawrence Tabak, NIH Principal Deputy Director, will present “Opportunities and Innovations in NIH Grant Awards Process” at an open session on May 24 at 9:00 AM.

NACNR meets three times a year to provide recommendations on the direction and support of the nursing, biomedical, social, and behavioral research that forms the evidence base for nursing practice. May’s meeting will feature the following presentations:
• Population Health Overview; Future Research Priorities
• NINR’s Population Health Portfolio Update
• Community Based HIV Prevention Model
Council members will also review and discuss new research concepts for future NINR funding opportunities and initiatives.
Prior to the Council meeting, from 10:00 – 11:00 AM, Dr. Kate Lorig will present the NINR Director’s Lecture, “Chronic Disease Self-Management—Evidence, Instruments, Translation, and Beyond,” in Lipsett Amphitheater in the Clinical Center (Bldg. 10).
