NINR  is participating in the newly released National Institute on Aging (NIA) funding opportunity announcements (FOAs) to encourage applications for basic and translational research on caregiving for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease (AD).

The funding opportunity, Research on Informal and Formal Caregiving for Alzheimer's Disease (R01 and R21), includes support for projects that cover a wide range of topics, including interventions to reduce caregiver burden and improve patient outcomes; tracking the scope and impact of AD caregiving in various populations and communities; as well as more research on the challenges of advanced AD care, and how to improve the characterization of informal and formal caregiving across the full spectrum of the disease while keeping in mind diverse populations.
