NINR recently redesigned the Division of Extramural Science Programs (DESP) section of its website to highlight key resources for applicants and investigators seeking NINR research and training grants. In the newly enhanced section, visitors can find DESP offices, contact information, news, and information for applicants and grantees, including funding and training opportunities.
“These updates will help raise awareness of NINR’s Division of Extramural Science Programs and its many helpful resources for the extramural research and other communities,” said NINR Director Dr. Patricia Grady. “Our goal is to make it easier for the public and the scientific community to learn about funding opportunities and grantsmanship at different career levels available through NINR and NIH’s extramural programs.”
A new feature, “When Should I Contact a Program Officer,” offers advice on when to contact an NINR Program Officer at various stages of the grant application and review process. The new page provides important advice and feedback regarding the relevance of ideas to NINR’s mission or to the objectives of a particular funding opportunity.
