Anita Ambs, MPHNINR Chief of Staff

Ms. Anita Ambs has over 20 years of experience in government service, and has led, managed, and implemented a diverse range of scientific and operations projects at academic, for-profit, non-profit, and federal agencies. She is skilled in research program management, strategic planning, procedure development, program analysis, and scientific review. 

Ambs spent the last seven years at the FDA’s Center for Tobacco Products, Office of Science, where she led a Knowledge Management team responsible for supporting the CTP’s tobacco product regulatory review process.

Before joining CTP, Ambs held several research and scientific administration positions at the NIH’s National Cancer Institute, culminating with her experience as an epidemiologist in NCI’s Division of Cancer Control and Population Sciences Applied Research Program.

Ambs earned a bachelor’s degree in biology, a Master of Public Health degree in epidemiology, and a master’s certificate in project management. In addition to her academic experiences, Ambs was first author or co-author on 32 scientific publications.
