Frances Bevington, MADirector of Communications and Chief of the Office of Communications and Public Liaison

Frances Bevington is the Director of Communications and Chief of the Office of Communications and Public Liaison at NINR. 

Ms. Bevington joined NINR in October 2022, bringing more than 20 years of experience and expertise in strategic communications, public and media relations, brand management, creative direction, advertising campaigns, project management, and team leadership to her position. She previously served as the Director of the Division of Health Promotion and Communication at the Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. In that role, she led communications and outreach efforts to promote the Healthy People program, the President’s Council on Sports, Fitness and Nutrition, the Dietary Guidelines for Americans, and the Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans, and other programs focused on preventive care, healthy behaviors, healthy aging, and health literacy. 

Throughout the course of her career, she has worked with a broad range of prominent D.C.-area organizations as a staff member, consultant, or volunteer. She holds a MA in Health Communication from the Johns Hopkins University and a BFA from the Maryland Institute, College of Art.
