NINR, in collaboration with the NIH Office of Behavioral and Social Sciences Research (OBSSR), is hosting a virtual one-day meeting called Advancing Nursing Research to Support Healthy School Environments for All, which will focus on the Institute’s second strategic imperative: School Health. From keynote speakers to panels focused on coordinating care and addressing health challenges in schools, participants will engage with public health experts and fellow researchers in learning how to advance nursing science in this critical area.  

The meeting goals are to:  

  • Identify NINR’s commitment to supporting research that promotes healthy school environments focused on prevention of chronic disease for all students  
  • Identify gaps and opportunities for nursing research to advance this science and practice, elevating the potential role of school nurses in this process
