Apply for FREE Phase I SBIR/STTR Application Guidance

Need Help Applying for SBIR or STTR Funding?

Apply for the Applicant Assistance Program, a free, 10.5-week mentoring program for new SBIR/STTR applicants.

Preparing your first Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) or Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) application can be daunting and time-consuming. Wouldn’t it be helpful to have an experienced mentor walk you through the process and help you refine your submission?

The NINR Small Business Program is accepting applications for the next group of Applicant Assistance Program (AAP) participants. The free, 10.5-week program is designed to assist small businesses in preparing an SBIR or STTR application in time for the January 5, 2023, deadline. AAP provides participants with services such as application needs assessment, mentoring, application preparation support, and application review. Use the AAP Application Portal to apply by Thursday, September 22, 2022, at 11:59 p.m. (ET).

You can learn more about the program through the upcoming Q&A/Office Hours session. Not only will you learn about eligibility criteria, program information, and tips for writing your application, but you’ll also have an opportunity to ask the experts your AAP questions.

AAP aims to increase the number of applications from underrepresented small businesses, especially women-owned and socially and economically disadvantaged companies, and offers support and resources to help those applicants maximize their chances of success.
