Funding Opportunity Supporting Transformative Research to Address Health Disparities and Advance Health Equity

Health disparities remain a persistent problem affecting racial and ethnic minority and other minoritized populations in the United States. NINR is proud to lead next steps for the Transformative Research to Address Health Disparities and Advance Health Equity Initiative to address health challenges in populations and communities experiencing health disparities. The initiative promotes interventions that have the potential to have an impact on advancing NINR’s social determinants of health (SDOH) research lens and NIH’s commitment to improve health for all.

As part of the initiative, NINR has published a funding opportunity (RFA-NR-24-004) to support the development of innovative interventions that advance health equity. This funding opportunity solicits research that addresses SDOH to prevent, reduce, or eliminate health disparities. Projects must focus on populations experiencing health disparities and include meaningful community partnerships to develop prospective interventions or evaluate ongoing or upcoming interventions to advance health and health equity.

For more information about this funding opportunity and details on eligibility, research objectives, key dates, application review, and award administration, please view the full funding opportunity announcement.
