NINR Scientist Selected as One of the American Academy of Nursing’s 2020 Class of Fellows

Dr. Paule V. Joseph has been selected by the American Academy of Nursing as one of 230 distinguished nurse leaders to join their 2020 Class of Fellows. The inductees will be recognized for their significant contributions to health and health care at the Academy’s annual Transforming Health, Driving Policy Conference, taking place virtually October 29-31, 2020.

Paule V. Joseph PhD, MS, FNP-BC, RN, CTN-B is a Tenure-Track Investigator and Chief of the Sensory Science and Metabolism Unit (SenSMet) in the NINR Division of Intramural Research. The SenSMet supports research into the fundamental mechanisms associated with chemosensory symptoms and metabolic conditions such as Type 2 diabetes, obesity, and related comorbidities. Furthermore, the laboratory focuses on the interplay between metabolic disorders, sensory-related pathways and brain diseases, particularly alcohol and substance use disorders.
